Today’s workers have quietly slipped into the role of unofficial project managers. Stakeholders, a lack of formal training, and a lack of processing, all raise the probability of project failure costing an organization’s time, money, and employee morale.

This workshop will help participants consistently complete projects successfully. They will learn to implement a disciplined process to execute projects and to master informal authority.

Project management isn’t just about managing logistics and hoping the project team is ready to succeed. The skills of “informal authority” are more important than ever before; therefore, team members should be inspired to contribute to project success.

Project Management Essentials for the Unofficial Project Manager TM will provide the mind-set, skill set, and toolset needed to complete successful projects.

  • Implement Four Foundational Behaviors that inspire their team members to executive with excellence

  • Identify a project’s stakeholders
  • Establish clear and measurable project outcomes
  • Create a well-defined project scope statement

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks
  • Create a realistic and well-defined project schedule

  • Hold team members accountable to project plans
  • Conduct consistent team accountability sessions

Monitor & Control
  • Create a clear communication plan around their project that includes regular project status reports and project changes

  • Reward and recognize the contributions of project team members
  • Formally close projects by documenting lessons learned

  • For full-day sessions, AmCham Shanghai members are eligible to attend at “Member Rate”; Employees who work at AmCham Shanghai member companies are eligible to attend at “Employee Rate”; Non-members are eligible to attend at “Non-Member Rate”.
  • Limited spaces are available and attendance will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Members please bring your membership card and non-members bring your business card upon check-in at the training session.
Walk-in and Cancellation Policy
  • This session requires confirmation of attendance in advance. If you attend this session without prior registration, you will be charged an RMB50 "walk-in" fee as member and RMB100 as employee.
  • Cancellation: If you need to cancel your registration for a half-day session, please notify Kelly Deng at (86 21) 6279 7119 ext. 4580 or email no less than 24 hours in advance. If you need to cancel your registration for a full-day session, please notify Kelly Deng at least two weeks prior to the session for a full refund. Cancellation made within two weeks before the session will not be refundable.
  • To ensure that you have a seat, please come to the session on time. Open seats will be released to other guests 15 minutes after the session starts.
