Following the financial crisis of 2008, the UK's Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), a national and international financial qualifications body, was tasked by the UK financial regulators to produce a module on ethics for the financial sector. John Adams has taught this module in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and China.

The module takes the format of a short introduction to the financial costs of unethical behavior, followed by a series of ethical dilemmas (lying on CVs, acquiring competitors' tender data, etc). These dilemmas are debated and discussed, and unintended consequences examined with the option for participants to vote on their perceived best solution.

Who should attend?

Group participation is key to this module. CEO’s and Heads of Compliance will find it particularly useful. Junior managers and admin staff may also have insights and an overview that senior staff lack.
