Few emerging technologies are as captivating as virtual reality. Popular and sci-fi culture has frequently interpreted the immersive worlds of VR as the future of digital technology - most often associated with gaming. While entertainment applications are indeed highly relevant, VR can be (and already is being) applied in countless other sectors from design & development, health & wellness to education… and now, brand marketing.

What makes VR so enticing is its ability to engage and stimulate the senses at a much deeper level than traditional brand communications. Basic applications for brand marketers can include VR-based pre-purchase visualization/customization/demo, immersive and interactive videos/advertisements (both standalone and embedded in other VR apps), e-commerce, user training, and customer service, just to name a few.

In this talk, we host Alvin Graylin Wang, China President of HTC's VIVE VR - the overwhelming market share leader in Asia-Pacific VR. Alvin also holds three other significant concurrent industry leadership roles:

  • Vice-Chairman of the Industry of Virtual Reality Alliance,
  • President of the $18B Virtual Reality Venture Capital Alliance, and
  • Leader of the VIVE X VR Accelerators in Beijing, Shenzhen and Tel Aviv

Alvin truly has unparalleled experience in the VR space and no one is better positioned to explain the development of this exciting technology, as well as its current and future applications for marketers in China.

Nick Anson, the Vice Chair of the Marketing & Media Committee, will host this showcase with Alvin.
