The recent changes in the international geopolitical, tax and trade environment will require a different course to be navigated by companies seeking to sustain and grow their business in the Asia-Pacific region. Expecting unexpected shocks and surviving such events will be the new norm and forces companies to re-examine not only their manufacturing footprint but also their supply chains and operating models, so they become more agile and resilient.     Edvard O'Rinck

    International Director of EY Singapore

    Edvard started his career in 1992 with one of the big six accounting firms as a tax advisor, working in the Netherlands and Hungary. He joined Ernst & Young ‘s OME practice on 1 January 2000.
    Edvard has gained international experience on several long term assignments in our OME practices in Amsterdam, New York and Zurich and is currently working in the Asia-Pacific region. Edvard started in Hong Kong in 2011 and moved to Singapore in 2017. He leads the Asia Pacific OME practice since 1 July 2015.
    Over the years Edvard has worked on hundreds of OME engagements in workstream leader, project manager and engagement leader roles.
    Edvard has advised US, European and Asian multinational companies regarding the establishment of regional, as well as global supply chain management structures, around different headquarter locations, such as Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
    Edvard advises both on new supply chain structures, as well as on changing existing principal and procurement structures, e.g. aligning the structure to a changing business environment or integrating different structures after an M&A transaction.
    Lately, Edvard is leading many Asian procurement and IP projects and the (re)structuring of supply chains within China.

    Associate Director of EY Singapore

    Based in Singapore, Sze Xin is an Associate Director in the EY Asia Pacific Tax Centre covering indirect taxes, customs and global trade issues in EY.
    Sze Xin read Philosophy, Politics and Economics in Oxford University as an undergraduate, followed by M.A. at Columbia University in New York, M.Eng in Supply Chain Management at MIT etc. Previously at Singapore Economic Board of Development, she has worked extensively over a decade with companies and governments in the Asia-Pacific region to facilitate global trade-related matters including but not limited to investment location studies, business model restructuring, investment protection, regulatory market access issues, customs matters, export control, anti-dumping, government procurement and FTAs. This included representing the Singapore government at FTA negotiations, ASEAN and ASEAN + Dialogue Partner committees on trade, investment, regional industrial cooperation and industry specific committees.
